Latz,
I can get 2 of these but not want to spend the cash they are significantly less the 1800, but if they are asking 1800 maybe I should reconsider. Are they really worth that kind of cash?

Ben, you can get two fluidisk wheels, or 2 Takhion frames??? Big difference if it worth 1800. I would (and could) never pay 1800 for any of these, but as I commented above on the Takhion in Australia, there the asking price was 9k, although that I never took seriously, even if its a Belarus olympic bike. One thing is for sure, whatever you would pay now, cheaper they won't become in future. But if you get the road TT version, consider, that these had special parts e.g. in most places a Campy might fit, but once I read, that for the rear-facing front brake it doesnt - its only a problem if it has the fork mounted handlebars, which is the coolest thing and 80% of the source of my love for these.

Here's the referenced beast, thanks to the "developments" the same 180k ruble is now ~2900 USD:

Looks cool.... and as i saw in a quick check they are hard to come by under eur 4-500 per piece. Now as things look like with Russia, many will stay there forever...

Here, ebay shows 1 rear for sale in italy for eur 950 plus shipping. although thats a road tt version.

Currently - not for long as it now read "reserved' - for sale for 550 hard earned Euros, said to belong to Jeroen Blijlevens ex-Tour rider (I'm not that smart in it, so googled him).
Simple as a slice of bread but nice looking little bike I think, and definitely awesome for the price.

There is an extreme amount of elegance in how the French made these brazed frames back then

Speaking of "Elegance"......perhaps already posted on this great thread....if so worth posting again, along with another great read.

Implies motion while sitting still......

Massive chainring.....Is that fork bent?
Best,
BTW, When did they stop using wood rims?

That is a great article, I remember when I first read it, and learned about the "why"s of the stayer bikes, but what was even more interesting to imagine "Laserman" Pesenti and Erzegovesi to fool around with ideas sometimes in garages. As majority of the Lasers are displayed already restored - or never beaten up - one can totally forget that underneath the whole image its still steel tubes, a welded in a Chewbacca-style, "sew it here, no there!" manner.

Also interesting to read how some of them got lost and definitely where did they show up:
Resurrecting the Revolution: Cinelli’s Historic Laser Rivoluzione Prototype “Dumpster Find” – Amy Danger | The Radavist | A group of individuals who share a love of cycling and the outdoors.

EUR380 on ebay in France. The one who buys it can go directly to the "show your artistic photos of your bike" thread with these pics, not sure if the sewage pipes qualify to the "show your bikes near water" one.

Nice shape and proportions and horrible handlebar, but let the pictures talk...

Nice pics Ben! Not a micron of motion blur, still they like flying. Interesting that the first guy in the GB team has different bike....

Lattz,
Only a real TT expert would have caught that!
Even though the bikes are modern, it's nice to see them in action..... BITD it was much harder to stop the action because Motor Drives were slower, 3.5 to 5 for regular MD speed with the special units by the big one could do a lightening 9fps to 15 fps per second.....now 30fps are the norm and 100+ in reach..

Best, Ben

Some random photo I found browsing the web. Too bad the quality - and that leg tattoo - sells him out being taken recently. Otherwise pitch perfect, I would believe he's "Igor" hours before the olympic run...

Wow... this looks like something only Ion Göttlich could make move....

Thanks to the independent front and rear brakes it's street legal EVEN in Germany (of course after adding lights and reflectors)
Looks really bada55 especially with that Nitto inspired handlebar.

Someone in South Carolina with a long seatpost fetish (or maybe he is Dikembe Mutombo, but every frame is displayed with at least half a meter non-matching post) is selling this beauty on ebay
The fork is admittedly homebrew, and yeah, maybe not as nice as the Australian bike above or the real Takhion, but if it does the job, it does the job... I definitely could not break it, not sure about a TT Hulk, but I love the details, and yeah its red. .

I chatted with the seller quite awhile back, the bike needs a lot of work and while he said no crack at the HT , I think it is still way over priced for the work necessary to bring it back to life. It seems like all the small frames are on your side of the world.....too bad or maybe it's good for me.
In the meantime some accessories for your viewing pleasure......and one vintage to keep it real.

Aero?

In action

Smooth

Just nice and posted previously
