Early 3TTT breakaway stem
I recently picked up an 80s Raleigh and didn't realize until after getting it home that the bike had a rather unique 3TTT stem on it.
Up until now I had not seen a "breakaway" type quill stem before. This one appears to be a precursor to the 1984 3TTT Record Olympic stem, at least that is suggested by one poster on velobase. This has me thinking, what was the earliest "breakaway" or hinged type stem design?
I particularly like the bolt attachment for the handlebar clamp. Overall a pretty neat design!
