3ttt Record Stem limit?

I have a 3ttt Record conical quill type stem on my Holdsworth and I’m wondering how far I can safely raise it?
Just how much must remain inside.
I was surprised there are no markings to indicate this limit.

TIA

maybe an inch above the split in the stem, or two inches of stem total, whichever is more?
don't suffer low bars, if you want/need higher, get a taller stem, you'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner

55 mm min insertion BUT reference the length of threading the steerer has- having the wedge or cone applying force in the threaded zone is not good practice.

The rule of thumb is 2-1/2 times the diameter of the shaft. A 1" steer tube takes a 22.2mm stem so 22.2*2.5=55.5mm; repechage's 55mm figure is acceptably close, given that it doesn't land in the threaded section, as he notes.

Stem Max Limit

Thanks Guys

Got it.... a couple-a-3 inches and not in the threads.

All the best
