1989 Miyata 718A

Ok so this bike is for sale near me for $60. 60cm frame and I am a little over 6 ft tall. Heard good things about Miyata's...good deal? Very Tempting

Keep in mind those are aluminum, not steel. And the shifter may be borked. And no, I have not ridden one.

But if it fits, I would probably take a gamble, for that kind on money. Or maybe wait until someone here who has actually ridden one chimes in. Miyata is not known for making junk though, not that I am aware of. Excellent paint job too, I love it.

I had a 721A if I recall correctly. It was unforgiving, stiff ride. Otherwise, nice bike.

I am going to check it out tomorrow morning. Has a flat tire (shocker). Anything I should be looking for? Pretty much planning on the purchase, from what I have heard these are great bikes. As long as it fits me, which I believe it will.

Pics

The last pic is a sweet single speed version of the bike. Seat needs replacing and I am going to go with different handlebars. These are impossible to steer and brake unless I wanna stand on my nose! Turned out that the frame is 56cm yet still seems to fit ok (I can stand flat-footed above the frame, barely)
