New Bolts for Old Lug Nuts
we had a thread last week about Cinelli pinch bolts and how they get hammered over the years. A lot of the parts we are riding are now 40 years old. In some cases used bikes have been attacked by "mechanics" wielding crescent wrenches, ball peen hammers, etc.
I think about this now and then. Several of my bikes use Campy single bolt seat posts - and the bolt is often compromised, rounded off, or otherwise in less than perfect condition. It's a single point of failure - if it breaks, you are going to ride home without a saddle !
So master craftsman Jim Merz is now selling "re-pop" bolts on Ebay and his stuff is awesome. He did up some seatpost bolts for me and they are gorgeous. He uses 6-4 titanium for these and Jim has done his homework on nice radii to avoid stress risers and other little touches. These are gorgeous !
You can find Jim's stuff on ebay here - https://www.ebay.com/sch/portlandjim/m.html?
The pic below speaks for itself. PS that's Jim's titanium bolt on the right.

That is nice looking work.
Toronto Cycles has a lot of unique Titanium parts, but not as specific to Classic/Vintage.
Titanium Bolts, Titanium Fastener, Red Titanium Bolts, Bike Bolts
