I was working part time at a shop in Redwood City, California in the late 80's. We had one in that exact color and decaling. I think the owner bought one when Lawee put them on sale, so perhaps mid-80's? That's the best I can do, but it was fun seeing one pop up after all these years.

this one is coming to my son’s wife soon and I will get to go through it. Only photo I have. Looks like an 86-7 corsa mondiale. Looks pretty pristine so far!

Multiple sources in Italy for Bertoni
When I posted pics of the "Speckled Trout" Bertoni over in the FB Steel is Real page someone made a comment about some Bertonis being built by Bianchi. I replied and he replied and he ended up posting this. Some of you uh um... more experienced guys might know how true this is or isn't.
I replied that Ben Lawee was an interesting guy and he posted this.
" " Trina B; He was the importer for Motobecane in the '60's and early '70's. He was diagnosed with cancer in the early '70's and given 6 months to live. He sold the importing business and retired to his home in Long Beach CA. 6 months later he was doing fine and bored as hell. So he went to Bianchi in Italy and specced (he was very active in the geometry and design) a half dozen bikes. He took them to Interbike in Long Beach. He branded them Italvega and by the end of the first day he had sold all of them and signed a dozen or so dealer agreements. He lived for more than 10 years and created Univega to take advantage of the quality and advancements of Japanese frames and components. Not to mention cost. But he had a soft spot for Italian stuff and the success of Univega gave him the wherewithal to create Bertoni." "

Yes Ben Lawee sought out the best Italian frame builders and had them rebadged with his Bertoni mark. I have same model as yours. Found some pictures of the how ours would have looked if we bought it in Pisa Italy! Top of the line was griffe with tallons growing out of lugs.

Bertoni Professionale 1989 I think
Very nice posts, thanks for sharing! Here's mine. Plenty of patina, chrome is very dull and the paint is faded. I'm pretty sure the drive train and brakes are original, the wheels are not, nor are the pedals, bars, stem, levers and saddle. I've been trying to keep it period correct. The frame is a bit small for me hence the long stem and seat post exceeding the limit. I haven't been out on a proper ride yet, but it's nice around the block. Do any of you experts know which factory built the frame? I have read that Daccordi built some Bertonis.

noteddy Great looking Bertoni. I think it’s an ‘86. I’m not sure Bertoni put out bikes on a yearly basis.

Trying to ID this Bertoni

Hi. Bought this a few months back, and with the labels missing, I spent some time on the web here and pegged it as an Italamerica - based primarily on the description and the color options; not many shown available in white. Yesterday I happened across a photo set of another Italamerica and noticed that the brake bridge is different, and I believe mine shares the same bridge as the Coursamondiale. Wondering if anyone knows a way to ID this more precisely.
Cheers.
