What temperature is your ride today?

Today's ride is the coldest I've done in a couple of years. I'm also trying a new under helmet wear. Keep the rubber on the road!

Upper 30's in Chicago, but rain, rain, and more rain. Was hoping to get in one more ride in November.

Interested to hear how you like the head gear. My wife just got me something similar and I really noticed a difference.

I've been tring to extend the season here and work the corners (Nov, Dec, March, April) a little more.

Probably will get up to 35 at my place, my dark little hollow in the big woods. It's the time of year where only a small patch of my yard gets any sunlight, surrounded by tall trees as I am.

Today's a hiking day; daughter's home from school with a friend and wants to show off the local waterfalls.

nlerner 11-30-19 01:16 PM

Rode yesterday around 38 miles. Temp was about 32 at the start and 35 at the end with a 10-20 mph gusty cold wind. But the sun was bright and I was properly dressed so I wasn’t cold at any point.

Fahrenheit531 11-30-19 01:22 PM

High 50s today, then high 60s and low 70s through midweek. It's cycling season in AZ!

chainwhip 11-30-19 01:30 PM

balaclava

my five y.o. is keeping warm with one like this...

...which has the advantage of several ways to wear it(full face, face exposed, neck warmer only), breathable, fleecy inner surface, but not too bulky.

Found this just now, while searching for a picture...he also loves squids...

Not sure I'd recommend for winter riding...lol.

40 degrees, misty rain, cutting SE wind. Another beautiful day in Chicago.🤣

BFisher 11-30-19 01:42 PM

Mid 20's on yesterday's quick post office jaunt. A bit warmer and sunny today, but I won't make it out. Snow's coming tomorrow, supposedly.

Now there's a vintage bike with good off-road geometry!

40 degrees and overcast here in the lower Sierra Foothills. I'm heading out just now, delivering a bike trailer, by bike!

merziac 11-30-19 02:20 PM

Turkey day ride was stellar, it was upper 30's, sunny, slight tailwind, only 7.5 miles and I was overdressed so it was all good. ;)

My thin 2 layer Smartwool merino beanie is the key to the whole program, it works from 50-60 all the way down as far as I go (been good in the mid 20's) with it, amazing.

repechage 11-30-19 02:22 PM

In Southern California we did have
a cold overnight. ( as the weather presenters noted )
anything under 50 degrees F and I break out the vintage Faux fur lined winter cycling shoes- no perforations- happy, warm feet. A NOS ebay purchase.
long fingered gloves and wool cycling cap - flip skirt over the ears

only the wind to battle

seedsbelize 11-30-19 02:53 PM

88°.

Salamandrine 11-30-19 02:56 PM

40F when I got up this morning. i waited till it was about 48 to go and ride. Spent the first half of the ride reminding myself I need to get some new full finger gloves. After a while it got up to a pleasant mid to high 50s.

Nice snow on all the hilltops.

This was the weather here in Phoenix today, exactly. The only real difference was, we got some rain overnight, with more flooding added to what we got the last few days. 🙄

I rode East on Bell to Scottsdale Road, and counted 5 trees blocking sidewalks, from the wind a few nights ago.

But it's supposed to warm up nicely for awhile now, and that kinda rain isn't normal for here at all.

Slightly off-topic, I found the Bicycle Cellar, in downtown Scottsdale, and grabbed a new top cap & spacer, for my threadless headset. Long story there, but it's fixed right now. ✌️

I was able to get about 30 miles in the 26'. It all went real good, lol, forgot about the farm dog that likes to chase at the house. Boy he got good angle, could got me today. The pup slipped on the berm next to the road, startled me good. Right after I took this.

gomango 11-30-19 04:53 PM

31 degrees this morning.

Freezing rain and snow.

Rode the Blackborow and brought the Jetboil.

Hot coffee helped. So did Fireball. :)

Rode down to the end of Minnehaha Falls and fished for walleyes/saugers.

Seventeen fish between us in one hour, so good times.

Six of us, all on fat tires. Cold but fun.

diverge52rider 11-30-19 05:28 PM

-5 °C (23°F) today. Think it was -11C/ 11F with the windchill standing still. First couple laps around the block were the hardest until the body warms up.

camjr 11-30-19 06:05 PM

61 degrees F under this Texas sky...

Cibi42 11-30-19 07:36 PM

A chilly -19C with a wind chill of -26c up here in Calgary. Defo needs balaclava and goggles to commute, and even with toe AND full shoe cover i got some cold toes. My poor old beater single speed Sekine conversion is getting its fair share of brine spray... Next week is back to above 0, it will feel like Spring!

canklecat 11-30-19 09:07 PM

I don't mind cold as long as it's humid or even wet. 40s and rainy Thursday but I rode 24 miles round trip to and from a friend's home for turkey day dinner. Coffee and a shot of baijiu to warm up.

But cold dry rides give me sinus headaches. I'll ride occasionally anyway but usually regret it later. My coldest rides have been down to the 20s. I'd get beardcicles. This autumn has been colder than usual for north Texas and I've done a few early morning group rides in the 30s, but can't say I enjoyed it.

Today, Saturday, was nice -- temps in the mid 60s, sunny, but a stiff 15-25 mph wind. The ride to my favorite 6 mile TT route was all headwind, but the actual time trial ride was all tailwind so it was a breeze.

CV-6 11-30-19 11:05 PM

70 degrees. I rode in the basement.

JaccoW 12-01-19 05:32 AM

Going to visit a friend in another town for her birthday. It's 4°C (40°F) right now but by the time we go back in the dark it's probably closer to 0-2°C (35°F). Should be a nice ride. :)

Bianchigirll 12-01-19 07:12 AM

I saw this when I looked outside this morning and went back to bed

I forgot about the "pics or it didn't happen" rule, so grabbed one on the way back. 😉 The traffic is crazy here, so it was safer to walk through the muck, than the road. 🙄

I guess I got around 40 miles in yesterday, they add up quick when you're not worried about it. 😎

Cold, 40 degrees, and wet at Kenilworth train station. Got out and did 10-12 miles. Pretty much soaked thru when I returned home.
