Look KG96 rebuild

Hi People!

I found you guys while trying to research for a bike build. I've recently bought a Look Team Replica KG96 bike frame which I'm thinking about bringing back to life.... if I can!

I found a feed on this site (search for 'Unkle Rico' Look KG96 Carbon Build!) which was really helpful so I thought I'd start my own so I can post pictures as I go along....

My first big question is does anyone know where I can find a list of the original components that came with the bike? I'd really like to get my head around some of the basics like what Bottom bracket options I have???

I'm new to bike building as well as this site so any help you could give me would be awesome!!!

Thanks

Rob

First off welcome to the forum! Secondly, you might want to get a moderator to move this to the main C+V forum as this forum is for people trying to get valuations on bikes and parts - dozens t get as much traffic.

I don’t have specific knowledge of that frame other than it’s from around 1990. I believe it would have sold as frame and fork with the buyer building it up with components of choice. A quick google search shows a couple of build threads on this site, so you can sift through those for ideas.

Brilliant that's really helpful, thank you! Do you know how I'd go about contacting a moderator about moving it?

That's a good question - not sure. I always thought the info was listed at the top of the forum but I don't see it. They seem to magically appear when people type "moderator". Maybe some magic is involved like clicking your heels 3 times and saying it out loud as you type.

Worse comes to worse, just start over with a new thread in the other forum.
