Odd duck: Renak rear hub bearing count?

I am attempting to rebuild this rear hub, it had eight 1/4 inch bearing balls on the drive side and thirteen 3/16 balls on the non drive side. Itís on a 1970s (guess) Gitane. Doesnít look like there is room for nine 1/4 balls. Cups and cones look pretty typical except non drive side cone was buried into the hub so I couldnít get a cone wrench on it.

i tried to find a reference in Sutherlandís but my third edition is too new (or not detailed enough).

Iíll go to google next.

also somewhat odd is although front and rear are matching Renak hubs, the skewers are both old Campy with the straight lever.

According to velobase this should have 9 bearings on both sides..

Also Renak was an East German company.
