Definately needs replacement.

edit: replace the stay AND get the DeRosa (as previously recommended).

Great idea... I didn't know seatstay replacements were a thing!

I'm keeping an eye out for a DeRosa. They look absolutely beautiful.

Probably worth your investment to be a paid member and put up a WTB in the C&V sales. Not sure how much difficulty cost come in in shipping from the states to canada

Anthony,
You didn't mention if this was an insurance claim. If so my conclusion is the same as all of the bike shops; new bike. But you may be able to file the claim and get compensation for a new frame and the cost of a rebuild for about the same amount of money. In the bike shops liability is always an issue so new is the answer. But you may get around that by using any cash to restore the old bike. JMHO, MH

MH, This happened about 2 years ago - there was some reimbursement though probably not enough given the circumstances. Insurance companies don't generally have your best interest at heart... I appreciate you looking out. Cheers, Anthony

find a framebuilder in your area. new seatstay and new paint.

Forget fixing that frame, Buy a good used high quality frame , swap the parts, upgrade the ones that you feel need replacing and you'll be back riding in a couple days.

You can pick up a Used frame ( without damage) for a couple of hundred Dollars and do without the headache of a repair. Repairs can very easily become a Money Pit.

Besides, that Specialized Allez was nothing fantastic.I recently bought a Colnago with chrome forks for $300. I also bought a Basso SL for $250, a pristine Vitus 979 for $100 etc etc etc..
