1986 Cannondale ST800 - bike racks and fenders
Just purchased a mint 1986 Cannondale ST800. Would like to get some information on who made the racks, fenders and panniers as I would like to pick some up. Been searching to no avail and thought if these were a "Brand name" perhaps I could extend my search some. The bike is being shipped from Florida to California and hopefully will be here next week. I can't wait.

Easy one, C-dale's old catalogs appear to be online here. They excelled at integrating good quality, purposeful gear. Lots of other choices of course.
The touring bikes I saw usually had Esge's but I can't speak for early stuff. I've never see a Cannondale fender.

So, when you bought a new cannondale at a bike shop, was there specifically a Cannondale rack(s) or would the retailer sell whatever they carried? My main issue is that I want a rack that attaches to the bracket specific to the cannondale that sits between the rear brake and seat. Plus I love the simplicity and looks of this one. I do see some drilled out ones on eBay but again, I'm not in the know so to speak if they would fit and perhaps for a different model. I know many universal racks mount to the two downward tubes with a clamp on style but that's not what I want.

Plenty of seatstay-mount rear racks out there, Eclipse, Blackburn, Vetta and plenty of new manufacturers. Cannondale made rear racks but those are probably pretty rare. Those front ones pictured are Blackburn Custom Lowriders. Very nice; there was a set for sale at the bike swap in Maryland last month. ESGE ChromoPlastic fenders in that photo. Lots of front and rear racks and fenders on the market that will do the job for you.

Cannondale also made their own line of panniers back then. Well made, and functional. Ebay regularly has them, front rears handlebar and seat bags. There were two sizes of rears.
