Concerned about Giovanni Pelizzoli in Bergamo

I heard the news today (no, this isn't a Beatles reprise) that there was a record number of Covid-19 related deaths centered around the Italian city of Bergamo. I'm gutted to hear about all deaths at this time, and none of us are immune, but I have no direct connections to anyone in Bergamo.
That is except for the fact of owning two Ciocc bicycles built by Giovanni ("John") Pelizzoli, AKA "Ciocc".
I know at last report he was still living and building frames in the Bergamo area, and he's definitely in the "at-risk" age-group.
Anybody hear any news about him?
I'm hoping for GOOD news!
Be safe and healthy, folks!
PS I checked the Pelizzoli website but there isn't any recent news there. https://www.ciclipelizzoli.it/history/?lang=en and there's a facebook page but I am not a FBer

No offense, but where are you? You just heard this today? (21 March 2020)

Is this representative of the level of COVID19 reporting where you are?

Yes it (highest one day death number) was reported today over something you may know of called "BBC", but as well this Yank thing called the UPI (United Press International).
Bergamo has been leading the world as the hot-spot in this grisly setting of one day death-records and today, 3/21/20, is more of the same:

March 21 (UPI) -- Italy again set a one-day death toll record from COVID-19, reporting another 793 deaths Saturday.

Exactly, but it seemed from your initial post this news was unexpected or a surprise.

Italy is hit hard, and lets give those here the benefit of our many doubts that they are well meaning and want only to help- even if they are struggling to know how. The truth is that all of Italy is in a crisis that we can only imagine- they are living it.

What we can do I do not know. I have sent messages to my friends and colleagues who are from Italy but still have failed to be of any use. One feels ones impotency in these times.
The only potency we do have, is local to us: so do what you can--- its weak but that is what we have.

that was how you read or interpreted it. And I only know what news I get in the sleepy backwaters of San Francisco.

None the less, the mounting death-toll is nothing surprising in this world we live in, sad to say.

If anyone shares my concern about Signor Pelizzoli and has news about his condition, please share it.

I sent a message to the shop in Curno but given the complete lock-down in the region (let alone all Italy) I don't expect a quick reply

So many in Italy at risk, the fate of which is totally out of our hands.
The suspension of commerce will be a terrific problem assuming they come through.
I guess one can save their money and hopefully send and order when restrictions relax.

I just saw that update a few minutes ago despite paging through social media. It is just awful and I feel an ominous harbinger of terrible things to come here.

“It won’t bring anything much our way but more dust bowl days”.
