Some strays that followed me home

I got these three bikes for a good price. Huffy Saratoga, trail mate captiva and an Armstrong 3 speed. Does any one know anything about them?

It is too bad that the Armstrong is missing the fenders. It looks to be in otherwise excellent shape. It has a Sturmey Archer 3 speed. You probably already know that these three speed hubs are pretty long lasting as long as there are a few squirts of oil in them every once in a while. The Huffy is also a three speed, most likely Shimano. They got better as they in the later editions.

They are not particularly valuable, but you didn't pay a lot for them. They seem to be good riders. Probably going to need a good going over and re-grease the bearings. Are you going to sell them?

the Trail Mate appears to be an early eighties immigrant from Formosa

for a specific date there should be date codes on the backside of the crankarms and on the Shimano fittings

expect maker to be either Merida or Giant

The Captiva looks interesting. While probably a lower end bike, Trail Mate was a company best known for industrial bikes and trikes, and I've never seen their name on a "real" road bike. It looks imported, probably Asian and '70s production.

The trailmate is pretty light and seems to have weathered well considering itís been outside for a long time. The stem looks OG but the bars and levers are aftermarket as is the crank. I havenít been able to find out much info about the company other than trikes or quads.
