1989 Ironman Expert pedals?

Everything I've read states this model comes with Sampson pedals but mine and several others I've seen photos of
have Shimano 600 pedals. The rest of my bike is completely stock so I'm wondering if you think these pedals were added
after the fact or did Centurion use some left over pedals?

Just a suggestion - there is already a long-running Ironman thread where the experts on these great machines regularly congregate. It's almost always on page one. They are a super helpful and knowledgeable bunch. When I have an Ironman question, that's where I go.

Wish I could help you with your query.

Sampson pedals were the worse!! I don't know how anyone walked in those cleats, they must have been twice the thickness of LOOK cleats
