Our fun-loving Golden Gate Bridge cover couple (dubbed "Fred and Daphne" by Salamandrine) were previously seen on the cover of American Cycling, August 1968.
50 Years Ago in American Cycling magazine (forerunner to Bicycling!)
Same couple, same clothes, same bikes, same location, same photographer.
Hey, why re-shoot when we still have unused photos from 19 months ago?!

For this post, I included the articles featuring the Great Eastern Rally and Bermuda.
I also thought the Letters section this month reflected some of the bike boom angst and environmental concerns of the era.
