yes to Allegro

the clincher is the ingot serial on the left side of the seat tube

several manufacturers offered Eddy badged bicycles

yep that serial number badge is an Allegro item, but I never saw a "Merckx" model Allegro that was as "budget" in the features offered as this one: with stamped DOs, crude forkcrown and bikeboom mix of components. The one that Craig Griffith once shared pix of (I think his Allegro/Merckx example was from early to mid '70s) was a full 531 DB frame with BCM lugs and Fisher BB shell, Campy DOs and forkends...at least that how I remember it!
