Help Identifying Specialized Allez - Repainted??
 

Specialized Allez that I need help identifying. Seat tube sticker says "Tange Prestige MTB Cr-Mo". There is a sticker that says OMAS which is an Italian company.

The seller said that there is "a bend at the head tube...the frame is laterally straight. The headtube is pushed back slightly". I didn't notice it until I looked closer at the pictures and the head tube does seem to bend back some, maybe more noticeable at the top.

Anyways I'm not sure what year it is. The serial number appears to say "BS693" but it is hard to read. The cable guides kind of overlap with it. Maybe you can make it out better than I can from the picture. The paint scheme seems unique for an Allez and I feel that it has been repainted at some point. I could be wrong I just haven't seen one with the pattern that this one has. I like old Specialized Allez's and own a couple. And I am always curious to learn more about them. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

hmmm, interesting! I've never seen one with that paint, either but if it's a re-spray it was done a while ago since the chips have rusted. Does the OMAS decal have clear-coat over it? Same question per the Tange tubing sticker.

Describes Tange Prestige Allez with dura-ace. Maybe some of the folks who posted there can provide more info.

It seems weird to me that the sticker says Prestige MTB. Not sure why that would be on a road frame unless it is indeed a repaint and that was the only replacement Prestige sticker they could find

The OMAS sticker has a clear coat. The Tange sticker does not.

The serial indicates Japanese manufacture, February 1986. Repaint with incorrect decals.
