Double line Miyata Serial Number

Someone sent me one picture of a Miyata serial number engraved at the bottom of the seat tube. I've requested more pictures of the bike to
futher help identifiy the year.

It has a double line serial number. The top line is: D S 7 1 . I believe the D S stands for Dod Sun. The 7 I believe stands for eiher a 1987 or 1977. Could
be 1987 since I didn't think Taiwan made Miyata's in 1977.

The second line is: 204929. I've seen other threads for Miyata serial numbers but none that I can find identifiy the year in this 2 line serial number.

Thanks for any help.

Didn't miyata put serials under the bottom bracket? Is it for sure a Miyata? If it is maybe check under the bb.

The subject bicycle was manufactured by Dodsun of Taiwan in December 1987, making it a 1988 model. Miyata had started having Dodsun contract manufacture some models in late 1986, with the 1987 entry level Triton, Nimbus and Victor.

Thanks T-Mar. How did you determine the month of December?
