1984 DeBernardi Olympic racer

I purchased this a few days ago and began the rebuild. I posted it in the "What are you working on" section but one of the members suggested I post it here.

Having been born that year in that location, I have several reasons to like that bike. Very cool.

De Bernardi makes a great frame, been in business for a long time. I owned a MAX framed one that I foolishly sold, recently picked up a mod-late 80’s SLX one in a similar color.
Nice bike!

I belong to a few Facebook groups and was told by Philip Delfeld : "I worked in a shop and we sold a bunch of DeBernardi frames. That is a lower end model below any Columbus tubing model but still probably a nice riding bike. I bet Roberto at Zar International could tell you more about it. He was the importer in the US back in the 80ís and 90ís. Maybe still??" When I asked him how to contact this Roberto person he said " I donít know? He was the owner back in the late 90ís early 00ís. I think they were in NY state?" So I'll try at least contacting Zar to see if any info can be found on this bike

yes

i remember my shop owners wife dealing with Roberto directly when my bike was ordered

She said he had a very continental accent and probably drove all the women crazy

lol. -- that was 1995 IIRC
