Seller refuses to open box

Not to mention the buyer can easily say, "Not as Described" and get all his money back..... due to the fact the levers was not shaped right for his hand. Sux for the seller, as he now has an opened item he has to sell far much less. Agree.... I block buyers who ask me to compromise the packaging....

Kurt,
Dispersal of this box would be undo-able, unless it is going to be another of those Box 'O Crap games. But if you want me to send it to you to dispose of, I get the drift! And it may be an option for my feeble mind. As for the suspected contents they could be safely recycled. I would prefer to keep them though. As I suggested to Ben it may drive this thread to 200 posts if folks were to guess what is in the box. Just my simple stoopid humor going on here. But this box is from the same seller and it may shed some light on the veracity of the discussion of the value of trusting your seller. And as I said it could bring Ben's wish to get to 200 posts to fruition. And Kurt you know the stuff in the box is likely made out of our favorite material found on the table of elements as #493 UnObtainium. As you know it is very difficult to find and hold for more than it's half life. As always, MH

Who will be the member that pushes this to 200 and should there be a prize, a sealed box perhaps?

Best, Ben

Completely tertiary aside: One of the Seattle bands I played in, in the late 80's was called "More Than A Box." Apart from its cute conceptualness (maybe not a real word?) I thought it was kind of a dumb name; maybe a little too cute. As a person from a marketing background, I guess my main objection to it was it didn't say anything about who we were, or what type of music could be expected from us. We argued back and forth, amiably, about the name at nearly every rehearsal, with lots of alternate names being suggested that at least one of us liked better, only to be rejected by the majority. But Matt, as lead guitarist, lead vocalist and the guy who owned the garage we rehearsed in, was the de facto leader of the band, and he absolutely loved the name "More Than A Box," so we kept it.
I like to think Matt somehow got involved with Amazon, and made his way into the marketing or design departments. I thought of him immediately when one of these arrived from Amazon with something ordered by my daughter:

Man, I would hate having to be the marketing person in charge of trying to promote a homey and warm connection to a brown cardboard box.

I agree with the seller. It's advertised as new in a sealed box. Thus WORTH MORE !! IMHO. As a 'ebay buyer' usually (have not sold in a long time, an Open Box presents a Risk

Well Kurt,
The buyer decided to open the package. he/I was expecting a set of calipers for the old Raleigh I am trying to bring back to life from a junk yard find for $6. Of course this will be a big money pit. $220 for powder coat, $50 for decals. And a whole bunch of my stash of Campy. New rims tires and spokes for $100,and I haven't gotten to bar tape and cables or a good saddle. But that is an aside to the contents of the box. I had ordered a set of calipers sans holders and pads, and that is what was supposed to be in the box. The seller sent along a period correct Raleigh seat binder bolt (that he sent me a note about trying to include with my purchase). So I was pretty surprised to find the actual contents of the box. I guess I am glad I didn't send to you to dispose of! Here is the reveal:

Way more than just a pair of calipers!
So I am going to say the seller was way more accommodating than the whining buyer was insisting on! This is another of a few ongoing purchases from the seller and I have always been pleasantly surprised by the contents of his boxes. Smiles, MH

And we're now in Phase II, The Interim Period. I am unsure if we will have a Phase III, The Contents. I certainly hope so. If not, we may simply have to assume it was what the OP was after (honestly, I hope it was) due to radio silence.

I am in awe... The beast still lives, and seems to have managed to spawn.

I'm looking for conclusion of the matter personally. We've sailed the high seas of discourse and now it's time to bring this into port. Really hope the OP got what he was looking for, as that is always the hope for any of our eBay purchases.

200 posts and no one has mentioned Pandora yet?
The OP apparently did indeed open a box, just not the one for sale.
