Wishing All Dads and future Dads A Happy Fathers Day

To All,
In these times of uncertainty, we can always be fond of our families. I have been enjoying the last few months with my daughter since she came back from NYC...I could not be happier and to me, this memory is the best gift that I could ever imagine receiving.
Sons and daughters out there don't forget that phone call.
I hope that all the dads are making great memories on this day....Happy Fathers Day to All the Dads out there!

Best, Ben

Not my image but I think it says it all on Father's Day.

Thank you, and I wish the same to you and all the fathers here. One of my kids is visiting with their new wife. My daughter in law is not an experienced cyclist, and I recently converted her bike from drop bars to upright bars. Later today, we plan to take a flat 7-mile ride, the longest she's ever ridden. I'm looking forward to it, because I hope she says, "Really? I just rode 7 miles?"

Tom,
Sounds like a great plan, my daughter is going with me to look at some wheels!

Happy Father's Day

Got a great ride in today with my wife, and received these cool T-shirts after.

I'm tuning up my wife's bike and then I'll be grilling striploin for a lobster risotto paired with a full bodied Spanish red. My son anted up some Glenfiddich and my daughter bought me Go-Pro accessories/mounts. Fresh baked strawberry/rhubarb pasties with homemade lemon curd ice cream for dessert.

I'm making out like a bandit!!!!!

Got one daughter home from college and the other one went back to finish up her school teaching business for the year in nearby Seattle. She'd been home since March zooming her classes and I think things were getting a bit claustrophobic for her, since she and her mom refuse to spend any time outside the house (yeah, they're both kinda weird that way).

But being Father's Day and all, I remember back to last year when they were all here at the same time and asked me, "What do you want to do for Father's Day?" My reply, which they should have anticipated, was "Let's go for a nice picnic lunch ride out to Ediz Hook and sit on the beach."

"Oh. Ummmm... what else would you like to do for Father's Day?" :(

Yes best Father's Day wishes to all! I got out early on an 80 mile ride and now loafing on the sofa. No gifts this year but sporting my shirt from a couple of years ago.

Right back at cha! I am hanging out with my Daughter this evening and I am looking forward to it. Last year it was a short bike ride for to breakfast with her (my suggestion), this year it will be watching movies in the back yard.

Thanks. I received some cards and my kids got me Peanut M&Ms which are my favorite sweet treat. But the best gift is just being with family.

And Xiaoman1, yes I made sure to call my dad.

We just had takeout lunch across the living room with my younger son and his fiancee at their condo. Next on the agenda is to visit my elder son's family after our little grandsons (pictured in their mom's upstairs reading nook) wake up from their nap. They are pretty strict about COVID lockdown, so we keep some distance between us. On her last visit, my artist wife and the grandsons drew pictures with dry erase markers on their sliding glass door, and they all seemed to enjoy the experience.

Thanks Ben! And to you and all the others out there as well!
My Father's Day gift came a week early when my one and only graduated Summa *** Laude from UCI. Before that she got inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. Proud dad I am. :) Now off to your professional life at Amazon, kid.:lol::lol:

Thanks Ben. I face timed with my daughter after my morning ride. I miss having her with me on our rides, but the memories are always there. I hope you had a great day with your daughter. Joe

Appreciate this thread, thanks much xiaoman1 . Just finished a Google group call with our two, and their significant others, our daughter is making these a tradition it seems.

Great seeing and talking to everyone since they live away from here, daughter and her BF/partner in Atlanta, Ga, son and D-I-L are in Wolfeboro, NH (soon to be Quebec, CN.) Haven't even gotten to see our daughter's new Bianchi, need some time on the Cherokee Trail with her soon.

SO HAPPY got to spend the day with my daughter, SiL and grandkids, wife and sister along the Potomac at Purse State Park.
Really a lovely day, with the kids playing in the water and us being together as a family.
We’ve been self quarantining together since the winter, a people-universe of seven.

Day after report.

My only and I often go on an "epic" ride but hadn't in a while. He was all in for a good ride and I had planned a longish one nearby.

He shows up and asks if we can help a friend with a flat that lives nearby that is struggling with most things. We went and did that and he was grateful, then proceeded on the ride.

His girlfriend calls with a big spider alert at their place so we swing by there on the way back and he strikes out on the hunt.

Back on the road and expand the route a bit to account for the covering of mostly daily roads for 13.1 mi.

Minor tweaking and tuning, sand and deglaze front rim and pads on his bike.

Burgers and hot dogs, cheesecake, new socks, Brooks leather and Fizik shiny black bar tape, a giant bag of pistachios and home made sugar cookies.

All in all a near perfect day. ;)

We have four. Two each from our previous marriages, they range from 23 to 29. I'm blessed that they enjoy each other and are local, and they conspired to to pay a surprise visit yesterday. It was a casual hang with lots of chatter and laughter. No riding, and that's just fine! Too hot and humid for me, anyway. My daughter brought a bottle of Japanese whisky and a card from her and her SO, my son painted a picture for me, my elder stepson brought flowers and advised me to be on the lookout for a delivery, and the younger one and his SO baked a couple of cookie cakes. I have it on good authority that they enlisted my wife's help with many of the details...

Had a great Fathers Day. Rode 20 miles with my oldest son yesterday. He’s now the father of two.
