Cherry Bicycles Cherry Bomb ATB

I have heard about Cherry Bicycles since I am local to Indiana, but have never seen one for sale until this popped up on my local craigslist. I believe it is circa 99 but it could be plus or minus a couple years. This isn't as vintage as most bikes in this forum but I wanted to post it here as well since I haven't gotten much feedback from the MTB forums I am a part of. John Cherry was a builder who made custom frames in Lafayette, IN. The cherry bomb was one of his ATB models along with the Dear John. I believe the tube set is a mixture of tange prestige and ritchey logic but I can't verify that. It seems to be a really nice bike and I am excited to get it cleaned up and back on the trail! Anyone have specific information or have other Cherry Bicycles? I would love more info or to see pictures of what you have.

Here is a link to some Cherry Bicycle information.

This is about all I can find along with a few pictures.

John Cherry and I are friends. We both went to the very 1st titanium class UBI offered in 1992. He had already been building ti frames before he took that class. I've painted a lot of his road frames over the years. Eventually he sold his bicycle shop where he also built frames and went back to college to take engineering. He didn't give up bicycles entirely and still works part time at a bicycle shop. He got his start racing BMX bicycles.

Missed out on a very small Cherry frame with S&S coupliers at a church sale last year. Another guy snagged it for $20. Same red color as OP.

Bicycle Guide did a profile piece on Cherry back in the late 90s. Probably have it around somewhere.....
