1981 Centurion Semi-Pro
Another Craigslist find this morning. A 1981 Semi-Pro; generally very good condition and mostly original. Stem, bars, brakes and pedals seem to be the only replacement pieces.
Although it’s my size, I may try to source missing original parts, rebuild bearings, and send this off to my nephew. Love that Cobalt Blue color with the chrome accents! https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...fc937ce18.jpeg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...678e4d3ee.jpeg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...694672600.jpeg |
Whoa! Great find!
I love Centurions from the late 70s and very early 80s! |

yet another very nice find on your part! :thumb: thanks very much for posting it. recall that some of these were reported to be Miyata products; shall look forward to reading what the experts have to state... those aero arrestor operators certainly do look out of place on there  ----- |
That’s the first one I have seen in that color. I really like those bikes , if one ever shows up in Orange in my size I might have to make a spot for it!

Wow, that’s quite a looker. You must be going for the uncle of the year award.

Beauty!!!!

Wow! What a handsome bike, love the paint color.

I doubt that the lovely Brooks Pro was OEM.
|
You are right about that! I popped that one on as soon as I got it home
|
Whew! So nice.
...may I call you Uncle. |

one of the prettiest bikes in existence: all chrome frame with that dark blue paint almost translucent makes it sparkle and shine through- and the pin-striping..

I wish my Pro-tour was that color. Beautiful bike and I am envious of your nephew.

You had one at the Color Wheel swap?

It looks like it has been ridden a bit, but not abused. The back story on this is that it belonged to the sellers father-in-law who bought it in Southern California while he was in Los Angeles helping to prepare for the summer Olympics being held there in 1984. I always enjoy finding out about the history connected to a bike.

Extremely pretty! That crank is just nuts.
