Raleigh frame id

There is a frame on eby I've been trying to id.
It must be 1970 or earlier with that headbadge.
I asked seller for serial number but have not heard back.

looks to be a Super Course ca. 1969-70

lug pattern is BOCAMA 14/II

crown appears welded rather than forged
the Super Course typically came with a quality forged crown from Vagner
it may be that fork is a RAMPAR replacement

tubing is three-tube 531 plain gauge with high tensile blades and stays

nominal size 23 1/2" (Raleigh measure c-t-t)

nice that it has the beefer centrepull bridge

serial should be on outer face of left dropout

waaaaay overvalued by seller: KEEP LOOKING

you should be able to easily locate a complete Super Cuorse bicycle in good nick in your size for less than seller's price for frameset

That squared off rear brake stop has me wondering if it’s a Raleigh at all.

Lower end, the rear dropouts are stamped without a hanger and there are no bosses for shifters on the down tube. I haven't seen a Raleigh with a rear brake bridge like that either. With the chromed socks on the rear and fork, it could be a super course with most of the paint removed. The head badge is from the 60's according to velobase. See if you can find the catalogs or examples from that era to help ID the bike.

Word of caution regarding older Raleigh bikes: BB width was 70mm with 26tpi threading; you have a handful of choices for replacement, and neither are necessarily 'cheap'.

I agree that it’s a pre 1970 Super Course with a replacement fork. The earliest Super Courses didn’t even have chromed fork crowns, although I think that by 1970 they did, but this one is not correct. It looks like the original brake bridge was removed and this one probably brazed on prior to the repaint. Here are a couple pics of my 68 showing the stay treatments, lugs, cable stops, and fork crown.
