At the end of the day, you end up with a project cheaper than a modern bike and of better quality than a new modern bike.
I have noticed that in France which surprises me, I go every year I can to Dordogne.

Dordogne is a nice place where you have nice trails for enduro , cross country and free ride. There are very few french bike collectors, there is one french group on facebook of die hard vintage MTB collectors are showing their bikes and also one french group dedicated to road bikes. But not very much people in France are conservative nor appreciative of the older stuff.

A vintage Castelli jersey I purchased on ebay from a seller in Ukraine of all places arrived yeserday via USPS to my mailbox. It was like $30 total, and no extra fees or anything like that, just the usual USA sales tax. That has always been my experience on ebay buying from sellers in both Asia and Europe, from both what appears as retailers and individual sellers. These are bike related parts, a box of 100 cables, a rack, clothing, etc. A frame, bike or much higher proced item may or may not be another thing.
