Cornelo Profilo

I've been looking for a new project to use as a "beater". Missed out on a really nice Eusebi (price went way too high for a beater), a Rauler (that turned out to have a cracked dropout apparently) and ended up with this. Thought I had something completely one of a kind but it seems BianchiGirl has one but I might still have the only one on the eastern coast of the US.

I only read about these on Saarf's fake colnago page and found BianchiGirl's postings here after the fact. It doesn't really seem like a Colnago much at all, unless some crimps will do it. Seems like a cheaper (probably straight gauge, little heavier than SL) CroMo, and except for the two pantograph hearts in the head tube lugs, the BB shell, lugs and dropouts seem pretty cheap. But, nice paint, and the crimping is cool.

Waiting on an English headset and shimano UN55 bottom bracket for the Stronglight crankset it'll get. And, need to figure out the seatpost - looks like a 26.6-26.8. Groupset will be 8 speed Ergo Chorus.

That is a great looking Cornelo. Mind if I ask whom you bought from

Might be Aelle tubing if 28.6 seatpost, but never saw Aelle with that "pleating" before...wonder could it be Oria or Dedacciai? Is there any clue in the decal near the headlug on down tube, can we see a pic?

Seatpost is 26.8. The label states C-18 profile Cro-Moly tubing. I've seen similar labels that had Tecnotrat's name, but on this label that is clearly cut away.

I took it out today for a first check. 8 speed '94 Chorus group, Mavic Ceramic Open Sup/Reflex rims, Stronglight Impact compact Crankset on Shimano UN-55 BB. The headset (first time I've ever installed one) is a sealed BBB. I need to cut the seatpost down a little further - it was a 400mm but the flutes in the seat tube prevented installing it deep enough.

Tires are a set of Conti GP 3000 in 700x20, rated to 150 psi.

Here is another example, of course, only if the sticker is truly original.

Well! guess it COULD happen, then ^, if as you say this decal is original. My guess is nobody would apply that decal if they were mis-representing the tubing, it's not exactly "top-tier".Thanks for the detective work Old Fireleg

We're not the same. (The people) I recently saw a special, engraved (!) Ferraroli frameset on which someone glued Panasonic stickers. (???)
