Trying to Identify Torelli Frame
I bought a used torelli corsa strada a little over a year ago after getting my carbon race bike stolen from my apartment, which admittedly I actually wasn’t all that thrilled about at the time.
I built the frame up a bit with modern components and it’s actually become one of the most enjoyable bikes I’ve owned. I’m not totally sure I’m posting this in the correct place being that the only thing that could be considered classic about the bike is the frame now, but I’m trying to just get some informantion on it. It’s made from Columbus Neuron tubing and rides like a dream. I mostly curious about the year of it, and the frame builder.
It has a pretty unusual serial number on the BB shell. Just reads “52MONB” which is somewhat odd to me because the seat tube measures 54. I’m mostly just curious if it’s possibly made by Mondonico?
Thanks for any help.

...if this were me, I would message them at the current website and see if anyone still there can help.
Their sourcing and identification has always been somewhat mysterious to me, even though I've owned a couple of them.
I even have one in the current project pile, waiting for me to come up with a fork and paint it.

When I researched my Torelli contracted 1989 Masi Nuova Strada, I learned that the bottom two models were built by Billato and the upper two built by Mondonico.
So your guess sounds good.

Nice! ha i thought this was my bottom bracket again for a second. It looks like a better detailed version of mine. I went ahead and emailed torelli asking about it. Regardless, I'm impressed with how nice this frame rides compared to other steel rigs I've owned. I'd forgot how enjoyable it is to ride steel and doubt I'll return to carbon anytime soon.

Italians typically measure their bikes center-to-center, so their 52 would be my 54.
