Bianchi Sport SX need help to ID the year

Hi,

I just picked up this Bianchi Sport SX

Serial number is S761769

Here are a few pics to go along.

Really good condition. I do not know anything about these bikes. I am hoping this is a good one :)

Need your help to ID the year of this bike.

Calling on all Bianchi owners and others with much more knowledge than me.

Really appreciate your help

1988 based on the group bike could be an 89
i had the same bike but with the sport LX group, i think. Been a while
It was a good budget Bianchi. i liked it

Based on the serial number in conjunction with the graphics, it's a 1988 model manufactured in late 1987.

A 2nd look reveals an 'I' hiding under the rear derailleur cable. The complete serial number is IS761769. That indicates Japanese manufacture during September 1987, which corroborates the earlier statement of a 1988 model manufactured in late 1987.

I fixed up one of these a couple of years ago, and it was a fine ride, though more relaxed angles than typical higher-end racers from the same brand.

Much like the earlier "Limited" model from Japan (as compared to the earlier "Super" and "Nuovo Racing" models which had more upright angles).

Like the bike norcalmike had, mine has the Sport LX gruppo on it (I really liked the brake levers).

The Bianchis retain value very well if you decide to sell.

I picked this up about a year ago as my beater bike. I removed the Shimano LX components and replaced them with mostly Shimano 600 from my parts bin. It was worth the $40 I paid for it.

I am the proud new owner of SN IS761606. It looks exactly the same as yours. Looking for a catalog and an owner's manual.
