Replacement/restoration - Alloy Wheelset/crankset/Groupset
Hey guys! I'm slowly trying to build my bike but and can't help but get weirded out by my crankset. So I'm planning to replace it.
I'm also planning to replace my wheels to alloy one's cause I have steel rims. Pedals need replacement too. lol
Already checked on Ebay but its quite over the budget. haha.
Does any one have a crankset or drivetrain, groupset or pedal they're not using and just gathering dust that your willing to donate (haha) or is anyone selling cheap ones?
Thanks in advance! Cheers!

It may take a bit as not too many people give away groupsets.
At the top of the C & V forum is a for sale section. Also there is a general marketplace and in there is a thread for passing on components, usually free but for postage. You might try watching those.

I’d clean those pedals up and grease them. They look pretty good.
It is hard to tell from the pics but the rest looks savable too.

Thats sounds like a lot for that bike, does it fit you? The saddle at that level has me thinking you could go for a larger frame.
Where are you located? For budget parts buying I suggest a co-op or a shop that specializes in used bikes. Just another suggestion, you could put your request on your local Craigslist, I bet someone has stuff they want to part with.

Thanking a large anonymous (to you) group of people “in advance” for some (big) favour you hope to manipulate one of them into doing for you is not a winning strategy. I know “Thanks in advance” is one of those meaningless catch phrases like, “Let’s do lunch!”, but it still communicates the same insincerity. Not a good look for a schnorrer.
