Vintage leather saddles (not Brooks)

There is a retiring enthusiast/hoarder that has thousands of parts and dozens of bikes in my market. I save up some $ from flipping less cool bikes and then send him a wish pick list and we meet to haggle over the lot

this is what I haggled for today- 4 leather saddles

(1) Middlemore England. Looks like a Brooks imperial
(1) Fujita professional. It’s a bit crusty
(1) Belt Fujita
(1) newer no name

I like 80’s American bikes but these seem to need more Japanese or English flavor. Tough decisions ahead - expand the fleet or sell them

I really like tbe belt and middlemore though

Are these well regarded like Brooks?

Fujita saddles came in more or less all the same variations as brooks saddles did, but they are a little bit heavier. I have the belt on my 310 and it’s extremely comfortable.

I have a Middlemore and it is as comfortable as a Brooks and seems pretty similar quality.

Main thing about the Imperial is that the top is carved to provide pressure relief for better blood flow. This reduces the rigidity of the saddle, and the lacing can help reduce sagging. but they main point is better blood flow and reduced pressure on sensitive parts. Middlemore is a lower tier component than the Brookses, but I have heard they were made by Brooks. But I'm not sure of that.

But your Middlemore has its sides splayed out. The lacing is supposed to pull those so the side skirts are in a vertical orientation.
