Two more rattle-can chromovelato jobs

The blue-and-red one is a Carlton Cobra, the green-and-red one is another Torpado. The Cobra was entirely chromed, the Torpado only partly, so it got a bit of looking-glass paint underneath some of the colour.

These pics are just after the last unmasking, haven't even washed or polished anything - or filled in the Torpado lug windows (white). Yes I know about the Torpado seat lug, I'm not worried.

Very nice. I may have to see about having you do my Ugly Betty but then I'd have to rename her.

Well, I do like the appearance of the product and causes me to rethink painting this Torpado (one of the OP's bike is a Torpado, is it not?). Anyway, mine is a Torpado and soon to get a coat of paint and then some Velocals art...

One question or concern. In one picture, it appears that the seat lug is cracked. Is that the case and if so, that is the sort of thing that can happen if a seat post is not installed far enough into the seat tube...

Two cracks are in the same place. Made me go look at the other two Torpados, no cracks.

It's not a high-stress area so even now I'm not worried. The crack is only the lug. It looks to me like that's where the weld would be if the is one.

So maybe a batch of bad seat lugs, or hurried production. The cracked one I have is a 1972 by serial.

My picture is, perhaps, misleading. The lug on my Torpado is not cracked - just a black smudge. Such a crack could have been caused by a seat post not installed far enough. Anyway, my lug is good and the bike is under restoration right now...

Ok, I thought I saw the same thing as mine in the same place. Where does yours have this smudge?

The smudge is in the same exact spot as where a crack appears to be on your Torpado. I mentioned it only in case someone thought it to be a crack, also.
