Gonna guess something british, post-wwii and before 1965. That really narrows it down!

me fave Ian Carmichael comedy is 1959's I'm All Right Jack
wherein he portrays a helpless young aristo for whom the family seeks a career
they find him one at a family owned factory
needless to say, calamity ensues...
