what model of colnago is this frame?
 

Hello, please can you tell me the model of this colnago frame? I have only seen colnago frames with the words but not with logo. The logo is grabbed or painted?

Maybe you need to post a picture of the full frame or bike. Your pictures tell almost nothing. Roger

That looks like it may be a Columbus Tretubi SL decal. It's hard to tell from the photos but neither the lug nor stay cap emblems appear to have any depth to them, unlike the embossing on the fork. The seat lug looks like it has a flat top and the combination of lug plus seat tube looks very thick. Pending more pictures and information, this frame doesn't look any better than mid-range and may not match the fork.

In wouldn't bet much that it is a Colnago frame.

I initially thought that is was a fake but now, with more photos, I think it might be a Colnago model called 'Export' - of which I know very little. It looks like the model name is on the downtube. I think the Export models were base line models.

My personal opinion rergarding collecting the lower end models from the top builders is that there were far fewer that survived and that makes them interesting to me. I reckon yours would suit some lower end or budget components like Campagnolo Nuovo Gran Sport and 980 or even Campagnolo Triumphe, etc. You would have something a little different but really interesting.

Not an uncommon frame. Essentially a "Super" model with heavier gauge tubing and fitted with an entry level groupset. I think they used a 26.8mm seat post, but not sure if proper post was used on the example I saw. I do not know how long they were made, but I believe they were out for 5 years or more based on differences I have seen in frame/fork markings and decals. I have seen more than one example with "EXPORT" cut into the fork crown, but also the same fork as you have on the frame shown. Stay caps have also used various designs, flat, fluted, marked, and unmarked. Probably best way to determine year made is by a catalog comparison. Unfortunately, Colnago catalogs are not always accurate as to their description or photos for the model shown for that year. I neglected to inspect the BB shell to see if it had the older style, newer style, or any cutout so I am curious as to what the BB shell looks like.

I have no experience riding that frame, but I would assume it is stiffer so it would perform differently than a "Super" model given everything else is the same. I just "rescued" an older "Super" (late '70s) that I will post on another thread.
