Replacement fork for an 86' Fuji TSV?

Hello C&V!
Ideally I'd like to post a thread to walk through the whole project but while I'm getting my post count up I'll ask smaller question first. I have a Fuji Touring Series V that I believe is the 1986 model. I've been wrenching on it lately and discovered one of the fork blades is bent slightly at the crown. I thought I may be able to do a safe fix but the problem might be worse than that, as the headset binds up when rotated. I'll post pictures when I can but I suspect the fork is beyond safe repair. That really breaks my heart since the fork has the chromed, stamped Fuji crown and mid-fork mounts. What are some recommendations for a 1 inch threaded fork, ideally steel with mounts and eyelets for rack options? What restrictions will I face from the frame geometry? The frame is 61cm so has a tall headtube. I got the bike for $180 so budget friendly options are welcome.

Thanks!

A key dimension is the axle-to-crown (A-C) measurement. See what that measures on your current fork and then check out the various options at https://www.somafabshop.com/shop/cat...ents-forks-975.
