Adult-Sized Stingray or Stingray Knockoff?

Greetings,

Has Schwinn ever made an adult-sized Stingray, and if not, have any companies ever manufactured an adult-sized Stingray-like knockoff?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks. These don't seem to be readily available.

Is there an adult-sized Stingray or knockoff that is currently in production?

I don't think so, yes the Manta rays are long out of production, they were an oddity at best but they have a following, are the only one's you really want as any other copy cats will be much lower if not poor quality.

The Cabe and Schwinn bike forum may have more to offer.

Thanks, but the frame on those seems to have a more contemporary shape. Looking for something old-skool.

You may want to find an old adult size cantilever framed cruiser bike and modify it with ape hangers and a banana seat.

i think all that is available is an Electra. I got a 3 speed for my dad before we got him a Bianchi Milano which you could single speed.

Find yourself a 50s/60s/70s Schwinn cantilever cruiser frame/bike (Typhoon, Corvette, Hornet, etc) and add ape hangers and banana seat.

Out here in the LA area, there is a sizable custom bike craze, most of which are "adult sting rays" of one type or another.

Schwinn still makes a beach cruiser that is essentially a full-sized version of the Stingray frame named the Classic 1 (see first photo below) which can easily be made into a Stingray. If you compare the shape of this adult-sized frame to that of a classic Stingray you will see it is about the same shape just larger (see classic Stingray in second photo). I have taken an adult Classic 1 bike and made it into an adult sized Stingray by simply replacing the handle bar with full size "ape hangers" and the saddle with a banana seat with a sissy bar. You can even put on a springer front fork if you like. You may also be aware that Schwinn made an adult sized Stingray about 15 years ago but that is of an entirely different design (see third photo below):

Schwinn Classic 1 circa 2020

Schwinn Stingray circa 1970

Adult sized Stingray circa 2005

I can't find it now but I saw a video a couple days ago of a guy that built an adult size Orange Krate using a modified 26 inch Schwinn frame. Except for the narrowish rear wheel and tire if you saw a picture of it without anything close to it to give it size perspective you'd swear it was a real Orange Krate.
