1984 Pinarello "Air"
Decided to post my Pinarello made from Columbus Air tubing. It is in original paint with trick, period correct French Roval aero wheelset (18 and 24 bladed spoked front and back wheels, respectively). This wheelset uses sealed cartridge bearing hubs with the front wheel spoked radially and rear wheel spoked cross one on the drive side.
The Air tubing was Columbus' attempt at an aerodynamic tubeset, with teardrop-shaped down tube, seat tube, fork blades, and seat stays, and oval-shaped top tube. The fork crown and lugset were proprietary. The teardrop seat tube requires the use of the proprietary Columbus teardrop section seat post. More photos on my Flickr site

Beautiful! While not usually a fan of colored tires, I think that those tires on this bike look great.

Wowee. So repaint? The decals look too 'together'.
I've got an Air fork on my Montello, I imagine once it came off something like this.
Columbus seatpost...my god.
What is the serial number?
