I had the wheel in the middle of the dropouts in those pics. The brake pads hit the rim good. The pads are at the top of the arms though. Maybe that reduces leverage in a bad way. Iunno. The clamp marks in the dropout oddly are right at the back. As far as I understand, optimally the top jockey wheel lines up c-c on the cogs above for shifting (this would mean forward), and otherwise it's kind of a tradeoff between cool fast handling+ looks and a bit of ride comfort + tire clearance.
