some success

I appreciate all of the input, both with the dremel instructions and the recommendations on what to buy if I can't get it to work. (I actually like the idea of a 7-speed 13-32).

So, I started off using dremel tip 953. https://us.dremel.com/en_US/products...rinding-stones
I marked one of the teeth with a sharpie, so I could track my progress.

I touched up each tooth and took it out for a ride. A little bit better, but on a slight incline the chain starting slipping again.

So, I changed up to tip 932. https://us.dremel.com/en_US/products...grinding-stone
This tip is much larger, and matches better the desired shape of the corner.

I touched each hook, and rounded them off. I don't seem to have the skill to bevel too much (or maybe I have the wrong tool). I was very light with the grinding. I really just touched up those hooks and corners.

SUCCESS: I went up a small incline near my house and had no skipping at all. This hill isn't that steep, so I'll have to try out a steeper hill.

I'll be able to go out sometime mid-week and I'll head to a steeper hill to make sure there is no slipping under load, especially standing up on a steeper incline.

Thanks again, and I'll report back later this week.

final success

So, I was getting a couple of skips still, so I put the bike up on a stand and pulled out a magnifying glass. I identified a couple of teeth that still had a little hook. I took those off with the dremel, and now I'm skip free. I should be good for the life of the chain, so at least 1000 miles.

thaks.
