Sram 8 & 9 speed brifters?

Were they all the same as the Campys when Sachs were around?

There were 8-speed Sachs-branded components, and there were 9-speed mountain bike shifters (probably 8-speed too) sold under the SRAM name. The current line of SRAM road shifters didn't appear until 2010, and by then not offering 9-speed was a way of signaling high end quality. Wikipedia has a lot of history. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SRAM_Corporation

If you really need brifters on an 8spd(or 9) bike, I'll recommend the cheap Sensah ones from China.

As I understand it, the company had been making SRAM Double-tap levers, but sram ditched them for another factory so they "stole" some tooling. Hood feel and actuation is just like a sram lever, it's just all done with a single brake lever blade (which feel exactly like a cheap copy of a modern Shimano blade.)

I ordered a set of 9spd off ebay from china this time last year for my carbon wunderbike. I like them better than STI, but I kinda hate brifters.
