Garmin mounts on retro bars...
Usually I don't bother with a Garmin when I ride my retro bikes, however I am riding in a vintage bike ride that will need navigation. The ride is over varying surfaces including gravel, I'm not keen on using the o-ring style of mount as I'd like something more secure. Given my retro bars are 25.4 and most mounts fit 31.8, has anybody found a suitable mount?

I use my o ring Garmin mounts on vintage bars; lots of gravel ridden with never a problem.

Thanks for the info, I've never tried. Do you fit it on top of your bars or on the stem?

I’ve done many miles, including unpaved surfaces, with a garmin mount on the stem.

I have this cheap one on my Bottecchia and my Trek. Had to put some rubber strips but they work just fine.

Thanks, I had better go and check my Garmin box of bits. I didn't even think to look there.

If you don't, HD for clear or black tubing to roll your own. ;)

Christmas came with a Wahoo Roam under the tree for me. I ran into the same issue but a spacer from Amazon worked perfectly even though it was meant for a 26 bar, it fit on the 26.4 Cinelli.

I found the Garmin insert and it fits perfect. I'm not a fan of the chunky Garmin mount however it is secure.
Regardless of laws any one and all of these can help with/win a lawsuit. Maybe time for a K Edge $$$. ;) |
I'm using the little O-ring mounted one on the stem. Least obtrusive and I'm not interested in looking at it often.
