Eddy Merckx Corsa Extra Team USA

Bonjour,

I have an Eddy Merckx Corsa Extra (road) frame in a Stars-and-Stripes paint scheme which was, I think, called "Team USA". It was sold by Rose, a dealer in Germany.
What kind of team was that? The US team for the Olympics perhaps? Does anyone know?
Thank you so much in advance for any information you may have!

Cheers,
Nuovo

This is a special paint scheme to celebrate Lance Armstrong winning the US Championship in 1993.
No team has ever used this paint scheme.

The US or the World Road Championship (Oslo, 1993)?

I have seen this scheme only on one other frame besides my own. Is it quite rare?

Thank you so much!

These are US colours, not World Champioship colours... A similar thing happened in 2001 when the US Chamionship was won by Fred Rodriguez - there was a cool "US flag" paint job on the Merckx (Rodriguez was not the World Champion)
Your design is rare, but I don't know if it is sought after by merckxists....
