I'm currently trying to restore a hard to find Stronglight Delta aero seatpost. Unfortunatelrefinishlack anodizing on the micro adjust clamping pieces for the post, had seen better days, and there are a few bad scratches on them that I would want to sand off. I was thinking of maybe using a home anodizing kit to refinish the clamping parts, but they don't look that easy to use, then I stumbled upon this stuff used by gun restorers. I think it's similar to "parkerizing" done to bolts or "bluing" done to guns. Just curious if the finish would be durable enough.

Only useful to touch up small nicks and scratches. It also only "reacts" within a narrow range of aluminum alloys.
You can try it, but I think that you will be very disappointed.

I am sure that you have searched the web for Videos....seems like it may work depending on how often you raise and lower the post....check the vids out and see if it may fill the bill.

Death fork? Naaaah!!
I've used the Birchwood Casey stuff on a very early (1955) production Colt Agent revolver. Worked all right, better than bare metal but not perfect.

(looking for a picture and not seeing it? Thank the Photobucket fiasco.PM me and I'll link it up.)
