Show me your vintage original bar wrap

Many of us are regularly combing fb and cl for that diamond in the rough and restoring, overhauling our finds. But given that that it's a consumable, it's rare to find a bar wrap worth saving. So let's see what you've got! This one is from about 1983.

Schwinn tape (as are Schwinn bikes) is fairly indestructible. The tape on the Schwinn Sports Tourer is original to the bike which is from 1972. This is one of the more pristine bikes I have found on CL. The other very pristine bike is a 1969 Raleigh Robin Hood. It is easier to find an upright with original grips than a drop bar bike with original tape.

Around the year 2000, a fellow was selling some bikes that he had picked up recently from a bike shop that went out of business. This is how I bought my 1974 Raleigh International... essentially still in the box! The parts were untouched, so the stuff that we consider consumable were still in great shape. The tires were looking good, as was the handlebar tape.

Here's a shot of the bike in action....

and a close-up shot to let you see the ribs in the plastic tape.....

I don't know if it was original, but this is the tape that was on my 1969 Raleigh Competition when I got it.

The catalog showed white tape on the green Competition, but I understand Raleigh's catalogs from this time were only a rough estimate.

If you've seen corrosive bars, this isn't something necessarily worth bragging about. Of course, ymmv.

I STILL have a few blister packs of the old 'No 1 Tape' that was sold by Bike Warehouse/Nashbar. Probably dates back to the late '70s. No 1 Tape was one of the first synthetic/foam tapes (along with THE TAPE)... My Fuji is still wrapped with some of the No 1 Tape that I put on there in about 1979/80.
