Ken Wallace of the Vintage Bicycle Brothel is selling everything.

Here’s the list. I’m not on FB but am somewhat local so a friend sent me these screenshots.

Wow. Ken said he would NEVER sell that Luigino. Must be a major life change going on.
Sadly, pretty much everything is too small for me...

from his fb "My wife and I are planning a move to Italy (part time) and Montreal or maybe even Asheville. So I need to get rid of a lot of stuff. Included is a collection of cycling magazines. These include the British Cycling (back over 70 years), Bicycling (back to the early 80’s), Bicycle Guide, Adventure Cyclist, Winning, Mountain Bike Action, Bicycle Sport, BIKE, Mountain Flyer, Road Bike Action, Dirt Rag, Urban Velo, Bike Monkey, Bicycle Times, COG, Momentum, Road, Bicycle Quarterly, Peloton, Paved, Cyclist, Pedal Fashion, etc. Included are many catalogs (Bike Nashbar, Performance, etc), newspaper clippings, etc. This is about 70 16 quart plastic boxes worth (plus several 30 gallon totes worth)
I would be willing to give these away but not willing to ship. Hope to keep them out of the recycling bin. Send me a message or give me a call if interested in some or all."

Are you referring to his magazines or are you okay with picking up a frame from him and shipping?

In any case, you can search fb for "Kenneth W Wallace" and you should see him pop up. Or you can maybe contact the bicycle brothel directly.

I don't actually have the priviilege of knowing the guy I just commented on his facebook and he responded pretty quickly.

And in case you can facilitate, he has a small Mercian I might want.

I sent him an email and will follow up with a call if no response.
If he agrees to gift me his cycling magazine and paper collection, I can facilitate at least a few bike purchases, but would prefer to discuss that outside of this thread by PM or email.
He responded -- I'm third in line. First in line is a friend of his in California, so I'm not hopeful.

Damn, if i already didn't have plans to go camping this weekend, I'd take a drive to Bisbee. Would be cool to see that place.

Are the prices of the bikes posted anywhere (maybe with photos of the ones that aren't on the website already)?

Was unclear if not shipping periodicals or bikes or anything.
I don't do FB.
If not shipping bikes, his geographic location really will hold back the value.
it would be a 12 hour or more drive or more each way.

Not that I know, but I only know what I saw... I did ask him on fb and he responded fairly quickly, though I don't know how well that will hold up if he gets inundated. You can always try, or email, or call.

He did say he won't ship a frame though, could be true for entire bikes as well.

Not for magazines, not for frames. Probably also not for entire bikes but not sure.

If anyone picks up the magazines and wants to unload issues of Bicycling and Cyclist from 1983-1991 or so, I would be interested.

Shrevvy, I have Bicycling mags from about 1988? - 1993. It's probably not a complete set, but any or all are yours for the cost of shipping. PM if interested.

@Spaghetti Legs on the right, but I was there, so I'm cheating.

Pic was taken right on the cusp of The Before Times. We may have been the last group of cyclists to visit the Bicycle Brothel. Thankful that we had a chance to visit before Ken shut down, but sad to see it happen.

Just another reminder to stop thinking "some day", you never know when it's your last chance...

Velocult, Bicycle Brothel, I'll always have those memories.
