A partial bike has just arrived, everything except the seat, pedals, stem upwards, rear mech, and wheels. Everything that is left is Suntour Cyclone except the seatpost which is Sakae. Quite a nice looking frame, good chrome, no dimples in chainstays, sloping crown, forged dropouts, rears say "Tange TR", fronts nothing. Tange Infinity tubing, fork is stamped "SPINNER" and "Made in Taiwan". A decal with extremely tiny printing at the bottom of the seat tube says "<something-or-other> trademark 1982 and "Made in Canada".

It's a 60cm (c-c) frame, fork weighs 830gm, frame weighs 2130gm. The BB has some "extra" numbers stamped, and part of the presumably original serial is unreadable - now, I'll have a look again after the paint's gone. The paint IS all going, after I trace decals; I had a good look on the net but there do not seem to be any, nor any help in making them - a scan of a catalog or advertisement, no, nada. I think the whole frame might be plated.




The fork is both knurled and shimmed, the knurling is done well enough but the shim was cut a fraction too long:

If nobody else comes up with a good image of the logo, I can help, the next time my son comes home with his smart phone. I have 5 or 6 Velo Sport catalogues.

<something or other> should be Velo Sport.

Thanks very much. I didn't get the wheels with those funny rims, have read about them, sounds like I'm better off without.

Top tube had a dent and was bent, both fixed now.
