Rebuild of Raleigh 1983 531c

So after getting all the relevant information from some members here
Thanks again.
I have decided to start the refurb. I am removing all the old paint by hand as my local powder coated who dips and powder coats all things motorcycle informed me any process he uses will destroy the chrome .
So have made a start on the stripping .I also have a chap lined up who works in silver ware to bring back the chrome .
Will keep you all posted as progress continues

Cheers

What processes would those be?
I would pay close attention to what parts of the plating look like they were originally painted (not highly polished), as opposed to being exposed.

Cheers Charles Wahl.
Thanks for the heads up, yep your spot on after removing the paint the demarcation line between what was painted and what was originally polished is very hard to see due to the previous paint job. That's why I'm giving the frame and forks to my mate who polishes for a living. I am hoping he will be able to provide a clear boundary.

So I have spent a few hours removing the paint work off the frame as I couldn't get it dipped or media blasted as it would have ruined the chrome finish . The frame has gone to a friend to have the chrome polished up. Unfortunately I don't have enough posts yet to upload a photo of the bare frame .
As soon as I hit 10 posts I'll upload photos

Cheers
