1948 Schwinn Continental Headset?

A friend needs a headset for a 1948 Schwinn Continental. Is this the same size headset that was used on the Varsities and Continentals in the 60s through the 80s?
Thanks,
Brent

48... my guess the same size as a headset from a New World- not from the electro forged era, those headsets were pretty good but I think less than what you seek.

I have a '46, I can check it tomorrow. My guess is the varsinental headsets may not work since they used the narrower stem starting in the mid sixties.

I have a '39 or '40 New World and IIRC, the headset from a '60s or '70s era Super Sport, Sports Tourer, Superior (aka filet brazed) worked.
