Performance Branded Sewups?

There's a pair of unglued Performance branded tubs at the Bike Kitchen I volunteer at. I'm probably gonna buy them for the parts box, even though I have no tubular wheels. (Although there's a set on CL with Campy hubs for 80 bucks, been there for like a month...) Even if I don't buy those wheels, there will be a sewup bike in my stable at some point, and used 126mm tubular wheels are cheap.

So I'm wondering:

1) Who made them? When I worked at a Performance shop in the early Naughties, at least the Forte road tires were Panaracers. (I was the Pusher Man for the 700x26 Forte Kevlars. I tried to convince all of my roadie customers to try them. Even with our "We'll take anything back so long as you use the magic words "I'm not satisfied" return policy, I think I had one person come back and swap them for 23s, and even he loved the ride.)

2) Anybody actually use these things?

3) What's a fair price? I was thinking 20 bucks each, but I'm guessing. (At my suggestion, since I was the one who discovered them in the bottom of the bin-o'-road-tires and knew what they were, we put them in with the high-end parts, so they're cash-only and I can't use volunteer points.)

Yes I remember those. I'm willing to bet they were made by Panaracer as well but I doubt you'll find anyone who knows for sure. I'd ask 20 bucks for both. I personally wouldn't buy them even if the rubber is new condition because I like to have three matching tires with one under the saddle for a spare.

Never heard of them, but I'm surprised they didn't have a made up brand like Sticciato or something.

Buy em and post photos. $20 is high... I bought Rallys for that new back then from Performance. $30 a pair seems fair.
BTW I like having my spare not match so I remember to put a new one on when I get home.

I recall using them and thinking they were decent enough for the price. Memory is a bit fuzzy, but I think they had a tendency for the base tape to come unglued. Might want to check that.

Thanks everybody! I think $25 is fair for the pair.
