Over all good shape, one broken toe clip , but all original otherwise.

I used to ride a similar era 312. Great comfortable to ride bikes.

Thanks, my third Miyata now and certainly the nicest one out of them.

Great score. Love the saddle and vintage grips.

Thanks, the saddle cover needs to be re glued but looks to be in good shape. Grips are gone..turned to dust when you touched them

Nice score! Just make sure the entry points for the aero cabling aren't cracked.

Thanks! I did read about the cracks somewhere and took a cursory look under there while washing the bike. Looked ok and overall condition is pretty good, aside from knicks here and there. She cleaned up nicely

Nice find!

Your indexed shifting might improve with shift cable housing rather than brake housing, and a bunch less of it heading into the rear derailleur.

If that’s your proper seat height in the last photo, sure hope there’s lots more seat post in the frame. My neck and wrists hurt looking at it.

Oh ok, I did not even notice the cable housing, will def swap that. Thanks for the tip on the length of the housing; could very well be the issue on my one ten!

That is a longer seat post than what came with the bike but I have not even tried to ride or setup the fit yet. Rear wheel is at LBS as it required truing beyond my skill set. This is smaller than my other frames and from what I understand more suited for my height (5'8") so am curious how this will work once all put together. Also I can't seem to develop a taste for drop bars so I will be putting some bull horns on there.

Looks like the 50cm frame size. At 5'8", you'd fit better on the 54cm size.

I've had two of these pass through my hands:

The Old Nail. I rode this until the top tube rusted out and retired it to a trainer.

I got this as a frame and fork on the forums. Blasted and powdercoat, non-typical graphics.

Cool paint scheme on the Old Nail there.

nimoWS 08-25-21 03:48 PM

Those are real pretty!

How much did you buy/sell those for?

viperocco 08-27-21 02:20 PM

While she is certainly smaller than the other bikes in the fleet, she is totally rideable (for now). Will likely swap the saddle once I repair the vinyl on the original one.

I think I paid a c-note for the Old Nail. The blue one was$ 60-75 for the frame and fork. I invested about $90 in the powdercoat and graphics and built it with stuff from the barn. Sold for $350.
