SF Peninsula C&V ride. Rescheduled to 9/04

For those of you who either wanted to do the C&V ride that we had to call off due to the poor AQI or that couldn't make it for other reasons, we have rescheduled it , yet again, for this upcoming Saturday (9/04).

Same Start: The Corner of Edgewood and Canada north of Woodside, about 1/2 mile off of 280 for easy access.

Same time: 10:00AM start

Same Route: See attached .pdf for the Cue sheet and some pictures. ~30 mile, mostly flat (some rollers), all paved.

Hopefully the air quality lasts and we can roll this weekend.

Mike

Currently the forecast is for Moderate air quality or better. As usual, we will cancel for poor air quality based on an 8:00 AM reading on the morning of the ride.

It turns out I won't be able to make it because something has come up. Nothing bad, and I wish I could do both, but those pesky laws of physics say I can't be in two places at the same time.

Right now the air is borderline, but meets the criteria that @genejockey and I set (100 or less on all the points of the ride per Purple Air). The last point just hit 99. So it is borderline. Use your best judgement.

I will be there about 15 minutes early. I will be at the corner on the "T" by the rock wall with a 1971 Bob Jackson.

Reminder:

Start: The Corner of Edgewood and Canada north of Woodside, about 1/2 mile off of 280 for easy access.

Time: 10:00AM start

SUCCESS!!!

After 2 cancellations, and with the AQI JUST below our cancelling threshold, the SF Peninsula C&V Ride #1 FINALLY happened! I don't know whether a good time was had by ALL, but a good time was had by ME, anyhow!

Here's the gang (without me) at the rest stop/rally point at Alpine and Portola.

I am absolutely terrible with names, so I can only remember Mike, my co-organizer, in the tricolor jersey. Everyone else, please identify yourself! THANKS!!!!

We've tentatively agreed to do the next one on October 2 (first Saturday, seems to make sense), same start, same route, same start time. Join us!

We lucked out on the weather and relative lack of smoke. Thanks for setting this ride up and I look forward to future ones.
Alex, on the Stella, far right in your photo.

Thank you for organizing, and persisting!

I enjoyed the company and the route.

Definitely a great time. Glad we were finally able to make this happen.

Great meeting you @genejockey (Doug), Tgot (Eric), Alex (73stellasx76), @Peugeotphil (phil) (yes we reminded him that a Trek is not from France) )

Here’s a few more pictures from the ride

Not sure why they are sideways and upside down..

Congratulations to all, Hope your ride becomes a regular monthly event and gains popularity.

if any one of you guys is a member at Classic Rendezvous, you might want to post your riding info there as well.
